Nagsagawa na rin ng hiwalay na imbestigasyon ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagkakaaresto ng isang pinaghihinalaang Chinese national na sangkot diumano sa illegal hacking operations at nakuhanan ng hindi lisensiyadong armas ng mga awtoridad.
“We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Mr. Yuhang Liu, who was detained by law enforcement for possessing unauthorized firearms and equipment potentially linked to communications hacking,” sabi ni AFP spokesperson Francel Margareth Padilla.
Ayon sa report, naaresto ang suspek na si Liu Yuhang sa Finlandia corner Codornico St., Barangay San Isidro, Makati City habang may nakasukbit pang 9mm pistol sa kanyang baywang.
Dinampot ang suspek dahil sa reklamong pananakot sa isang delivery boy, ayon pa sa ulat.
Sa isinagawang follow up operation, nabawi rin ng mga tauhan ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) ang ilang hacking equipment sa condominium unit ni Liu sa Paranaque.
“The discovery of firearms and sophisticated electronic equipment is concerning and underscores the importance of vigilance,” giit ni Padilla.
