Iginiit ng International Criminal Court (ICC) Office of the Prosecutor (OTP) na ang kanilang mga imbestigasyon ay “independently” nilang ginagawa, pati ang pag-kolekta sa mga impormasyon kaugnay sa pag-iimbestiga nila.
“The Office independently collects the information relevant to its investigations… the disclosure of information in the cases before the Court is strictly regulated by the ICC legal framework and under the control of the independent ICC Judges,” giit ng OTP.
Ito ay kasunod ng mga alegasyon ni Atty. Levito Baligod na binayaran umano ang mga ICC investigators para sa imbestigasyon kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Nilinaw ng OTP na ang mga aktibidad nila ay pinondohan sa pamamagitan ng “the Court’s budget approved by the ICC Assembly of States Parties and subject to established oversight mechanisms.”
“The costs related to OTP prosecutions and investigative activities, including mission expenses, are fully covered by this budget, and managed strictly by the Office in an independent and transparent manner, and in accordance with ICC financial rules and regulations,” hayag pa nila ngayong Huwebes, Pebrero 26.
