Umabot sa 1,021 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga special permits na ipinagkaloob ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) upang matiyak na hindi kakapusin ang pampubliking sasakyan sa panahon ng Semana Santa sa susunod na linggo.
“The LTFRB issues special permits during special occasions, including Holy Week, to maximize the operations of PUVs as the influx of passengers travelling to their home provinces is expected to increase before, during, and after the Holy Week,” sabi ni LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III.
Ang pagkakaloob ng special permit ay inaprubahan ng LTFRB board members sa mga may-ari ng public utility vehicles, ayon kay Guadiz.
“This is also to ensure safe and secured travel for our Filipino commuters,” ayon sa LTFRB chief.
Sinabi ni Guadiz na regular ding iinspeksiyunin ng LTFRB at Land Transportation Office ang mga PUV sa mga pangunahing terminal sa ilalim ng “Oplan Bantay-Biyahe Semana Santa 2024.”
