Sinibak sa tungkulin ang isang traffic enforcer ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) matapos makunan ng video habang tumatanggap ng P2,400 sa isang motorista na nahuli sa Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City noong Biyernes, Marso 15, dahil sa diumano’y paglabag sa traffic regulations tulad ng paggamit ng cellphone habang nagmamaneho at hindi paggamit ng seatbelt.

“We do not tolerate any form of corruption committed by our personnel. Anyone proven to have committed such crimes will be dealt with accordingly,”sabi ni MMDA Acting Chairman Don Artes.

Ayon sa imbestigasyon, pinadala ng motorista ang P2,400 suhol sa pamamagitan ng e-wallet bago nito ipinost ang kanyang karanasan sa social media.

“The following day, the complainant received a call, and the money was sent back to him. He was also asked to delete his post on social media, which he did not do. The MMDA then reached out to him to push through with his complaint and identify the traffic enforcer,” ayon sa statement ng MMDA.

Nitong Martes, Marso 19, positibong kinilala ng complainant ang MMDA traffic enforcer na nangotong sa kanya subalit todo tanggi pa rin ang suspek.

“The traffic enforcer will be asked to temporarily report to the MMDA Head Office in Pasig City while the investigation is ongoing,” giit ni MMDA Assistant Secretary David Angelo Vargas.
