Pinasalamatan ng SMC SAP ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa pamumuno ni Secretary Jaime Bautista sa pagkapanalo ng grupo sa bidding process para sa multi-bilyong pisong rehabilitation project ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
“Our proposal is designed not only to elevate NAIA to world-class standards but also to ensure that the government benefits from the most advantageous revenue-sharing agreement. This aims to secure a favorable outcome for our shareholders while prioritizing fairness and long-term sustainability over immediate profits,” ayon sa kalatas ng San Miguel Corp (SMC) SAP.
Sinabi ng SMC na pinamumunuan ng negosyanteng si Ramon S. Ang na matagal na nilang inantabahayan at hindi tinantanan na masungkit ang proyekto kasama ang RMN Asian Logistics, RLW Aviation at Incheaon International Airport Corp.
“We also commend President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration for its commitment to modernizing NAIA,” pahayag ng grupo.
Ikinatuwa rin ng DOTr ang pagkapanalo ng grupo ng SMC-SAP sa proyekto sa ilalim ng Public-Private Partnership (PPP) na inaasahang maiaangat ang passenger experience sa pangunahing paliparan ng bansa sa pamamagitan ng expanded airport capacity at improved operation.
