Pinangunahan ni Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos ang oath taking ceremony ng 298 dating miyembro ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front at Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) na natanggap bilang mga regular members ng Philippine National Police.
Ginanap ang seremonya sa parade grounds ng Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Headquarters sa SK Pandatun, Parang, Maguindanao nitong Huwebes, Disyembre 28.
“You will be training physically, mentally to become instruments of peace. Undeniably, you will face challenges, hardship, struggles. At the end of this road, there is triumph. Kung merong bagyo, merong araw. Kung may kadiliman, merong kalinawan,” pahayag ni Abalos.
Natanggap ang mga rebel returnees sa PNP matapos sumailalim sa recruitment process ng National Police Commission (Napolcom).
“Walang puwedeng magsabi na ito ay palakasan. Walang puwedeng magsabi na ito ay binayaran. We made sure na hindi ganoon. Lahat kayo ay pinagpaguran niyo ito through [your own] merits,” giit ng kalihim.
