Ang Clark International Airport (CRK) ay kabilang sa ‘World’s Most Beautiful Airports’ ng prestihiyosong Prix Versailles, ang World Architecture and Design Award sa UNESCO.
Dalawampu’t apat na paliparan mula sa buong mundo ang nasa listahan, kung saan ang CRK ang nag-iisa mula sa Southeast Asia.
“It is an immense honor to be recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful airports and we are truly humbled by this. It also inspires us to keep on giving Filipinos what they truly-deserve, a world-class airport,” sabi ng airport operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD) President at CEO na si Noel Manankil.
Noong 2021, lumabas ang CRK bilang isa sa nangungunang anim na finalist sa kinikilalang Prix Versailles Architecture and Design Awards sa ilalim ng Airport Category, na nakakuha ng nararapat na lugar nito sa kasalukuyang listahan ng mga kilalang airport.
Ibinahagi ni Teri Flores, ang Corporate Communications Head ng LIPAD Corporation, na nang dumating ang nominasyon noong 2021, ito ay naging isang napakalaking sorpresa at karangalan. Sa oras na iyon, ang paliparan ay hindi pa umaandar.
Dagdag pa niya, “Being acknowledged as a Prix Versailles Laureate and recognized as one of the World’s Most Beautiful Airports is an enduring honor. It extends beyond CRK; I believe it reflects positively on the entire country.”
