Nakahanap ng kakampi si Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson Diorella Maria “Lala” Sotto-Antonio mula sa mga miyembro Christian Coalition Movement (CCM) kaugnay ng naging desisyon ng MTRCB na suspendihin ang noontime variety program “It’s Showtime!”
Ayon sa CCM, marapat lamang na suspendihin ang palabas dahil sa malaswang asal ni Vice Ganda at partner nitong si Ion Perez noong Hulyo 27, 2023 kung saan sinubuan ni Ion si Vice ng icing ng cake gamit ang daliri nito.
“The language and behavior displayed by host Vice Ganda licking icing off his co-host and partner Ion Perez’s fingers at the July 25, 2023, segment created images or impressions which were sensual, obscene and morally offensive that should be restricted to private, adult and regulated viewing,” anang CCM sa isang pahayag.
“It goes against the rules on general patronage where young children would be exposed and persuaded that it’s an acceptable Filipino values and norms,” ayon pa sa grupo.
Giit pa ng CCM, nakadaragdag sa paghihirap ng pamilyang Pilipino ang anila’y “indecent, immoral and unwholesome shows” na ipinalalabas ngayon sa telebisyon.
“The producer and hosts of It’s Showtime cannot shield their infractions under the guise of freedom of speech,” giit pa ng CCM.
Setyembre 5 nang ilabas ng MTRCB ang desisyon nitong suspendihin ng 12 araw ang naturang show dahil sa insidente, samantalang binigyang pagkakataon naman ang producers ng It’s Showtime na maghain ng Motion for Reconsideration sa loob ng 15 araw.
