Patuloy na umaani ng pagsuporta ang panawagang magtalaga ng isang IT (information technology) expert bilang susunod na Land Transportation Office (LTO) upang masiwata diumano ang malawakang katiwalian sa ahensiya na itinuturong puno’t dulo sa lumalaking bilang ng road accidents sa bansa.

Nangunguna sa mga ineendorso sa posisyon ng LTO chief ay si Bernard Yu, isang IT expert na nagsilbi rin bilang consultant ng ahensiya ng dalawang taon at nagpursige ng digitalization process sa mga transaksiyon.
“You have consistently demonstrated your unwavering support to the CIOFF’s (Chief Information Officers Forum Foundation, Inc.) advocacy for a transparent and inclusive eGovernance,” ayon sa liham ng grupo, tungkol kay Bernard Yu.
Inendorso rin si Yu ng ITAP (Infocomm Technology Association of the Philippines) Convergence Alliance, Inc. kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. bilang susunod na LTO chief.
“His deep expertise in enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management, and digital transformation makes him uniquely qualified to lead the LTO into a new era of modernization,” ayon sa ITAP.
Dahil sa mga endorsement, lumiham si Yu kay Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon tungkol sa kanyang interes sa posisyon ng LTO chief.
“The last 22 months have shown that the agency has been hampered by various controversies brought about by poor judgement, mismanagement and policy missteps, resulting in the negative public opinion,” ani Yu sa kanyang liham.
Ang pag-apply ni Yu ay kasabay ng direktiba ni Marcos sa DOTr at LTO na gumawa ng hakbang upang mabawasan ang lumolobong bilang ng mga road accidents.
