Nagsanib puwersa ang tatlong business giants ng bansa upang itatag ang “first and most expansive” na liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant sa lalawigan ng Batangas na nagkakahalaga ng $3.3 bilyon (P184.89 bilyon) na pinangungunahan ng Chairman, President at CEO ng Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) na si Manuel Pangilinan.
Inihayag ng Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGen), Aboitiz Power Corp., at San Miguel Global Power Holdings Corp.
“For the first time, three leading power companies are working together to secure our country’s energy needs while transitioning toward cleaner power sources. This represents a major leap forward for our energy future, ensuring not just reliability but also cost-efficient power for many Filipinos,” ayon kay SMGP chair and President Ramon Ang.
“This is a pathbreaking venture. Apart from transforming the energy landscape of the Philippines, this symbolizes a milestone alliance among major players in the energy industry toward a more sustainable future,” sabi ni Pangilinan.
“Both LNG and renewables are needed to achieve a balanced energy mix and well-planned energy transition. Above all, this is a big win for the Philippines and the people,” dagdag pa ng Aboitiz Power chairperson Sabin Aboitiz.
