Natuklasan ng Masungi Georeserve drone surveillance ang maraming drilling operations ng Rizal Wind Energy Corp., na suportado ng Singapore-based Vena Energy, na walang humpay ang pagbubungkal ng Masungi limestone formation.
Nakuhanan ito noong huling bahagi ng 2023, na nagbigay-liwanag ng unsettling authorization para sa pagsasagawa ng pagsusuri sa Masungi Karst Conservation Area (Tanay side) para sa pagtatayo ng mga halos 12 na kolosál na wind turbine.
“This development entails widespread road construction and raises significant concerns for local wildlife, particularly threatening birds and bat populations,” ayon sa Facebook post ng Masungi Georeserve.
“To date, despite our communication of facts to RWEC executives, the company has NOT signified any intention to find an alternative site for their wind farm – declaring the project as already in the “ADVANCED PRE-DEVELOPMENT STAGE,” sabi pa ng Masungi Georeserve.
“We invite you to join our urgent call to action: Demand the revocation of any permits granted to Rizal Wind Energy Corp. and halt further exploitative practices within the sanctuary.”
