Nasungkit ng jiu-jitsu player na si Aleia Aielle Aguilar, 6-anyos, ang kanyang ikalawang titulo matapos talunin ang hometown bet na si Maitha Faraj sa gold medal match noong Miyerkules, Nobyembre 1, sa Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship sa United Arab Emirates.
Si Aleia ay anak ni Alvin Aguilar, na itinuturing na “haligi” sa mixed martial arts community sa bansa, at dating jiu-jitsu champion Maybelline Masuda.
“All of your hard work, discipline and initiative to always do your best paid off once again!” mababasa sa facebook post ni Alvin. “We are all so proud of you!”
Gumawa ng kasaysayan si Aleia matapos maging pinakabatang Filipino world champion noong nakaraang taon 2022.
“Great to see my daughter fighting and representing the flag this time. Her hard work, discipline have finally paid off in training all these years,” saad pa ni Alvin. “Last year, I didn’t see it live, so I am happy and we’re all very proud of you for making another historic moment for the Philippines.”
