Sinuspinde ng Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) ang page-ere ng “It’s Showtime” ng 12 araw bunsod sa patung-patong na reklamo ng mga viewers laban sa malalaswang inasal ng mga host nito sa programa nitong mga nakaraang buwan.
Sa desisyon na inilabas ng MTRCB ngayong Lunes, Setyembre 4, sinabi ng MTRCB na maraming natanggap sila na reklamo hinggil sa malaswang ipinamalas ng mga host ng program segment “Isip Bata” noong Hulyo 2023.
Tinukoy ng MTRCB ang malaswang pagdila ng “It’s Showtime!” hosts na sina Vice Ganda at Ion Perez sa icing ng cake habang nilalaro rin ito gamit ang kanilang darili sa harap ng isang bata na kanilang ini-interview na hindi nagustuhan ng mga viewers.
“The said case was referred to the MTRCB’s Hearing and Adjudication Committee which heard the case and required the respondents to submit their position papers, following a procedural process,” ayon sa decision ng ahensiya.
Base sa Presidential Decree No. 1986, maaari pang magsumite ng Motion for Reconsideration ang mga producer ng programa sa loob ng 15 araw matapos nila matanggap ang desisyon. At kapag pinanindigan pa rin ng MTRCB ang una nitong desisyon ay maaari pa rin umapela ang “It’s Showtime” sa Office of the President upang baligtarin ang suspension order.
“This is not the first time that a preventive suspension order was imposed on It’s Showtime. In 2016, the MTRCB imposed a 20-day preventive suspension on ABS-CBN’s daily variety show then called ‘Showtime.’ In 2023, the MTRCB has received multiple complaints which the Board has given due course,” ayon sa documento.
