Bilang pagkilala sa kabayanihan at sakripisyo, ginawaran ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines ng Gold Gallantry and Heroism Award si Scout Chris Lorenz T. Fabian, isa sa mga nasawi sa pamamaril sa San Jose National High School sa Tacloban City, Leyte noong Hunyo 22, 2026.
“It is our highest, most sacred tribute—born of a moment where extraordinary courage met absolute danger, and selflessness triumphed over fear,” pagpupugay ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines kay Fabian, ang tinaguriang Tacloban sho*ting “hero.”
Matatandaang kinilala si Fabian bilang “hero” sa naturang insidente matapos niyang isara ang pintuan ng kanilang silid-aralan upang pigilan na makapasok ang armadong suspek.
“Chris did not hesitate. His final act was not just a reflection of the Scout Oath; it was its ultimate manifestation. In the face of peril, he stood as a shield, choosing service and duty to others above his own survival.” ayon sa post ng Boy Scouts.
“Though his flame was extinguished far too soon, the light of his sacrifice will forever pierce the darkness, inspiring generations of Scouts to walk with unyielding honor and fierce bravery,” dagdag pa nito.
