Inilunsad ni Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo nitong Biyernes, Hunyo 19, ang People’s Budget Portal, isang online website na layong gawing mas bukas, malinaw, at mas participatory ang proseso ng pagbuo ng budget ng lungsod.
“This is a unified platform that serves all stages of our annual budget process. It allows city offices and our Naga City People’s Council to submit programs, projects, and activities in a structured way, aligned with the [Department of Budget and Management] standard,” ani Robredo.
Ayon kay Robredo, magsisilbi itong sistema kung saan maaaring magsumite ng mga programa, proyekto, at aktibidad ang mga tanggapan ng lungsod at ang Naga City People’s Council, alinsunod sa pamantayan ng Department of Budget and Management.
Sinabi rin ng alkalde na magiging bukas sa publiko ang cost assumptions at price data upang mapalakas ang transparency at accountability sa paggastos ng pondo ng lungsod.
Dagdag pa ni Robredo, magiging free at open-source ang People’s Budget Portal upang magaya at magamit din ng iba pang local government units (LGUs) sa bansa.
“All codes, data schemes, and documentation will be publicly available. So that any LGU in this country can adapt, adopt, and build on what Naga has built,” aniya.
