Nagpaabot ng pakikiramay ang Department of Education (DepEd) sa pagpanaw ni Carl Niño Acosta, isang student-athlete mula sa Ilocos Norte National High School, na miyembro ng gymnastics team ng Laoag City Athletic Association, at nakatakda sanang kumatawan sa Region I sa 2026 Palarong Pambansa.
“Carl Niño was a remarkable learner who brought pride to his school and community. In the recent Region I Athletic Association meet, he won three gold medals and two bronze medals, which is an achievement that spoke of his hard work, discipline, and love for the sport. He was preparing to represent Region I in the 2026 Palarong Pambansa,” saad sa pahayag ng DepEd.
Nagpaabot din ng pakikidalamhati ang ahensya sa pamilya, mga kaibigan, at mga coach na naiwan ng kampeong gymnast.
