Kumpiyansa ang pamunuan ng World Economic Forum (WEF) na lolobo ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas hanggang sa $2 trilyon sa susunod na dekada kung maipapagpatuloy nito ang mga reporma para makaakit ng mga foreign investors.
“The World Economic Forum, we are very bullish on the Philippines, provided that reforms do continue. I think that this could be in the coming decade, a $2-trillion economy if there are further investments, in education, infrastructure, and also able to draw on the great competence of the people of the Philippines,” saad ni World Economic Forum President Børg Brende.
“We are optimistic, bullish on the Philippines, provided that the reforms are continuing,” sabi ni Brende sa ginanap na pulong balitaan sa Manila noong Miyerkules, Marso 20.
Sa pagtayan ng WEF, nagkakahalaga ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas sa higit sa $400 bilyon noong 2023 matapos lumago ang gross domestic product ng bansa ng 5.6 porsiyento.
“I would say that further investments in infrastructure, upgrading of airports, roads, bridges, because there is the archipelago… that’s investing in also the ability to the more rural areas to see investments if the transportation costs are going down,” ayon kay Brende.
Aniya, dapat i-prayoridad ng admistrasyong Marcos ang pagkakaroon ng sariling energy sources at tuldukan ang red tape at bureaucratic processes sa mga transaksiyon para lalo pang makaakit ng potential investors.
