Naniniwala si dating senador Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes na “staged” o planado ang nangyaring pamamaril sa loob ng Senado noong Mayo 13 ng gabi, para magbigay umano ng politikal na bentahe kina Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa at Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
“It’s all planned. These things did not happen at random. They wanted Bato to appear so that they can change the leadership in the Senate, so that they can control the proceedings for the impeachment,” saad ni Trillanes.
“There was a scenario and then they made sure that the media covered that situation and it was broadcasted all over the world. And while after it happened, here comes the senators on cue,” sabi ni Trillanes sa isang panayam sa The Newsmaker nitong Huwebes, Mayo 14.
Nang tanungin naman kung sino ang posibleng makinabang sa naging kaguluhan sa Mataas na Kapulungan, tahasang sinabi ng dating senador na: “Si Bato and the group of the Dutertes, especially in light of the upcoming impeachment.”
