Pinaghahanap ngayon ng mga awtoridad ang driver ng isang putting SUV na may plakang numero “7” na tinangkang sagasaan ang isang opisyal ng Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) nang pumasok sa EDSA bus lane nitong Linggo, Nobyembre 3 ng gabi.
Ang awtorisadong gumamit ng plate number “7” ay ang sasakyang pag-aari ng mga senador. Mismong si Senate President Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero ang nanawagan sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) na tukuyin ang may-ari ng sasakyan upang mapatawan ng parusa ang driver nito.
“While assisting buses to move forward, Secretariat Sarah Barnachea of the DOTr-SAICT noticed the white SUV illegally passing through the bus lane. Secretariat Barnachea approached the vehicle to apprehend and verify the driver’s identity. However, the driver, instead of cooperating, attempted to run over Secretariat Barnachea and flee the scene,” nakasaad sa post ng DOTr-SAICT.
Ayon sa online post ng SAICT, naganap ang insidente alas-6:28 ng gabi.
Sinabi rin ng SAICT na tinangka ni Secretariat Sara Barnachea na hulihiin ang driver ng puting SUV subalit sa halip na tumigil ay hinarurot pa nito ang sasakyan kaya muntik na masagasaan ang opisyal.
“Despite their efforts to approach the driver politely and perform their duties, the driver continued to resist and eventually reversed the vehicle until reaching the open barrier, where they managed to escape,” ayon sa post.
“Adding to the disrespectful behavior, a passenger in the back seat of the SUV raised their middle finger at the officers as they fled,” dagdag ng SAICT.
