Bilang chairperson ng Finance Subcommittee G, binigyang-diin ni Senator Loren Legarda sa ginanap na 2025 budget briefing ng mga cultural agencies nitong Huwebes, Agosto 29, ang kahalagahan ng kultura at sining sa paghuhubog ng pambansang pagkakakilanlan ng Pilipinas.
Kinilala ni Legarda ang mahalagang tungkulin ng National Commission for Culture and Arts Proper (NCCA), National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), National Archives of the Philippines (NAP), Commission on the Filipino Language (Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino/ KWF), National Library of the Philippines (NLP), at Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) na patuloy na nangangalaga, nagtataguyod, at nagpapayaman ng kultural na pamana ng bansa.
“Our cultural agencies serve as the guardians of our history, language, and the arts. They are tasked with ensuring that the legacy of our past continues to inspire and inform future generations,” sabi ni Legarda.
“In a rapidly changing world, where cultural identities are constantly being challenged, it is imperative that we provide these institutions with the necessary resources to fulfill their mandates effectively,” pahayag ng four-time senator.
