Personal na nagtungo si Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Alfredo Pascual sa Malacanang ngayong Miyerkules, Hulyo 31, upang isumite ang kanyang resignation letter kay Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. na magiging epektibo sa Agosto 2.
“The Presidential Communications Office announces the resignation of Secretary Fred Pascual from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), effective August 2, 2024, as he transitions back to the private sector,” ayon sa Presidential Communications Office.
Sa kabila nito, pinasalamatan ni PBBM si Pascual sa kanyang naiambag sa DTI na naging gabay ng gobyerno sa pagpapaunlad ng ekonomiya ng bansa.
“His focus on MSMEs was absolutely correct, and we are beginning to see the fruits of that policy. We are sorry to lose him, but we respect his decision that this is the time for him to return to the private sector,” sabi ni Marcos.
Tiniyak naman ng Palasyo na agad na iaanunsiyo nito kung sino ang papalita kay Pascual sa DTI upang matiyak ang “seamless transition” ng kagawaran.
