Sinimulan na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang unang reading session at Nanay-Tatay teacher session sa pitong rehiyon sa bansa nitong Lunes, Hulyo 1.
“With the expansion of the Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program, we aim to aid more college students in difficult circumstances to pursue or complete their studies through provision of cash-for-work (CFW) under this reformatted educational assistance program,” sinabi ni DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.
Ang programa ay mula sa expanded Tara, Basa Tutoring Program ng Department of Social Welfare and Development, ayon sa statement ng kagawaran.
Inaasahang aabot sa 10,000 ang bilang ng 2nd year to 4th year students mula sa piling unibersidad ang makikibahagi para sa programa.
Pawang mga Grade 2 students naman ang matutulungan ng expanded Tara, Basa! Tutoring Program.
Sinabi din ng DSWD na ang mga Youth Development Workers (YDWs) ay nagsagawa na ng first Nanay-Tatay teacher session para sa mga magulang at guardians ng mga student-learners.
Kabilang sa rehiyon na matutulungan dito ay ang Regions 3 (Central Luzon), 7 (Central Visayas), 8 (Eastern Visayas), 10 (Northern Mindanao), 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN), CALABARZON, at National Capital Region (NCR).
