“Our MCCs offer system redundancy because of its capacity to provide internet connection, through satellite internet, and power supply from generator sets/uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This means that it can help a lot of affected residents to connect with their loved ones when the power supply in their area is down,” saad ni DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao.
Ang mga bagong Mobile Command Centers (MCCs) ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ay nag-aalok ng libreng koneksyon sa wifi pati na rin ng pag-charge ng mga cellphones sa panahon ng mga kalamidad, sinabi ni Dumlao.
Inihayag din ni Dumalao na ang mga bagong MCCs na ipakakalat sa mga regional field offices ng ahensiya sa mga kritikal na lugar na naapektuhan ng kalamidad tulad ng bagyo, lindol at iba pa.
Ang mga ito ay may state-of-the-art satellite internet, gadgets at generators na maaaring gamitin bilang isang source ng power supply at internet connection para sa mga pamayanan na maaaring maapetkuhan ng mga kalamidad.

Ang mga MCCs ay mayroong ding mga UHF Digital Handheld Digital Radio na magagamit ng mga disaster response teams upang mag-monitor at tumugon agad sa mga komunikasyon tuwing may kalamidad.
