Nagpapatuloy ang negosasyon para sa isinususlong na joint naval patrols ng mga tropang Pilipino, American at Japan sa South China Sea, ayon kay Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary Arvin de Leon.
“I can confirm that negotiations are still ongoing. Nothing more,” sabi ni de Leon.
Ito ang kinumpirma ni de Leon noong Huwebes, Abril 4, sa gitna ng mga ulat na maaaring banggitin ang isang trilateral maritime activity sa joint statement nina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., US President Joe Biden, at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sa kanilang pagpupulong sa White House sa Abril 11.
Ayon sa DFA, magpupulong ang tatlong state leaders sa Washington sa imbitasyon ni Biden.
“Marcos, Biden and Kishida will sit down to discuss trilateral cooperation to further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific and around the world,” ani ni White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre.
