Nais ni Commodore Jay Tarriela, tagapagsalita ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), na ituwid ang mga maling impormasyon na kumakalat online tungkol sa galaw ng Pilipinas sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), kung saan ipinaliwanag niya na ang mission ng resupply sa Ayungin Shoal ay hindi pagbabanta sa China kundi isang legitimate operation.
“We are not provoking anybody. We do not provoke the people’s Republic of China everytime we do the supply operation,” paglilinaw ni PCG spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela.
“Secondly, it’s also wrong to think that it is the Philippine Government who is the reason why things are escalating in the West Philippine Sea, because for so many times we have been highlighting in this pack that what we are doing in Ayungin shoal is to serve a legitimate operation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) supported by the Philippine Coast Guard,” sabi pa ni Tarriela.
“Even before President Bongbong Marcos started engaging the United States for military exercises, we have been already experiencing this sign of tension from the People’s Republic of China,” ani pa ni Tarriela.
“Even without the United States having a strengthening security alliance the People’s Republic of China has been really very aggressive, provocative, bully, disregarding of national law,” dagdag pa ni Tarriela.
