Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. si Gen. Francisco Marbil bilang bagong hepe ng Pilippine National Police (PNP) kapalit ni Police General Benjamin Acorda jr.
Si Marbil, na tubong Gapan, Nueva Ecija, ay pormal na nanungkulan bilang bagong hepe ng PNP matapos ang simpleng change of command na ginanap sa Camp Crame nitong Lunes.
Sa nasabing seremonya ay naitaas din ang ranggo ni Marbil bilang General o four-star rank.
Bago maging Chief PNP, nagsilbi si Marbil bulang hepe ng PNP Directorate for Comptrollership (DC), director ng Police Regional Office 8 sa Eastern Visayas at hepe ng PNP Highway Patrol Group.
Siya ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy ‘ Sambisig” Class of 1991 at nakatakdang magretiro sa February 7, 2025 kung saan maabot niya ang mandatory retirement age na 56.
Sa kanyang pamumuno, sinabi ni Marbil ang tutukan ng PNP ang pagpapatupad ng quality leadership, palalakasin ang kampanya labang sa local at transnational crimes at pag-iibayuhin pa ang serbisyo para manumbalik ang tiwala ng publiko sa pambansang pulisya.
“First, the quality of leadership, knowledge, ability, and professionalism within the ranks,” pahayag ni Marbil. “Second, expanding our ability to uphold the law, maintain order, and fight local and transnational crimes in all forms and manifestations. To this end, we commit to utilizing the best and innovative practices in law enforcement. And third, but not the least, we will strive to increase the level of trust that the people we protect have in us. We will focus on increased community satisfaction in our work as a key benchmark of our progress.” Dagdag ng bagong Chief PNP.
