Sinabi ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na gagamitin nilang huling baraha ang “expropriation of properties” sa mga lupain na apektado ng “right-of-way-issue” sa kinukumpuning Metro Manila Subway sakaling umabot sa deadlock ang kanilang pakikipagnegosasyon sa mga property owners.
“We have now shortened the negotiation process. If there will be no agreement, we will have to file expropriation proceedings but without prejudice to continue with the negotiations,” sabi ni Regino.
Sa ginanap na media briefing ngayong Huwebes, Marso 7, ipinaliwanag ni Undersecretary Jeremy Regino palaging “last recourse” ang expropriation of property proceedings ng ahensiya sa mga righ-of-way issue sa 33-kilometer railway system na magkokonekta sa Valenzuela City at Pasay City at daraan sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 sa Paranaque City.
“We are doing our best to convince property owners, all things considered, that their concerns are already factored in,” ani Regino.
Sa kabila nito, tiniyak ng opisyal na “on schedule” pa rin ang pagkukumpuni ng Metro Manila Subway na inaaasahang matatapos sa target date na itinakda ng DOTr sa 2029.
