Inaprubahan ng House panel nitong Miyerkules, Pebrero 28, ang panukalang inihain ni Speaker Martin Romualdez na naglalayong palakasin ang pagbuo ng mga makabagong gamot sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalakas ng clinical trials sa bansa.
Sinabi ni Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre sa explonatory note sa HB No. 9867, na ang panukalang batas na ito ay naglalayong baguhin, para sa mas mahusay na landscape ng medical innovation sa Pilipinas.
“It is our responsibility to foster an environment where the discovery of groundbreaking treatment and cures can flourish not merely for the benefit of the people but for the betterment of mankind,”sabi ni deputy majority leader Acidre.
“In the midst of a world where health challenges are constantly evolving and new diseases emerge alongside all adversaries that continue to afflict our population, there is no greater task than ensuring the well-being of our citizenry through the advancement of medical science,”dagdag pa ni Acidre.
Sa ilalim ng HB 9867, itatayo ang Experimental Drug Development and Discovery Center. Ito ay magsisilbing collaborating hub sa lahat ng usaping may kinalaman sa pharmaceutical research and development sa Pilipinas.
Ang proposed office na ito ay mangangasiwa sa paglikha ng mga regional clinical trial hub, na tutuklas at bubuo ng mga gamot at tatasa sa bisa nito, bukod sa iba pang mga alintuntunin.
