Naglabas na ng official statement nitong Martes, Pebrero 27, si Vice President at Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte upang magbigay ng paliwanag kung bakit niya binawi ang pahayag nito sa ika-38 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution nitong nakaraang weekend.
“What I said in 2017 regarding the February 25 EDSA anniversary has never changed. My position remains the same today,” sabi ni Duterte.
“I did not intend to issue a statement this year as I did not the previous year,” giit ng VP Sara.
“Because of this, I removed the EDSA anniversary post from my social media page. I hope this will put the matter to rest,” ayon kay VP Sara.
Nakasaad sa dinelete na post ni VP Sara: “As we celebrate this momentous occasion, let us remember the lessons of EDSA – the power of unity, the strength of Filipino spirit, and the importance of standing up for what is right.”
