Nagbabala si Sen. Risa Hontiveros na ang panibagong panawagan para sa charter change (cha-cha) ay mas makakasama kaysa makakabuti sa ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.
Binanggit ni Hontiveros ang mga pag-aaral na nagsasabing ang charter change ay hindi prayoridad ng mga negosyante kapag iniisip ng mga ito ang kailangang gawin upang makaengganyo ng foreign investments.
“It’s the policies, the predictability of the policies in the Philippines, the equal implementation of the law, elimination of graft and corruption and of red tape. The price of doing business here and ease of doing business,” sabi ni Hontiveros.
“So there is so much more that not just the legislature but the executive could do to make our business and economic environment more conducive to investors but to foreign investors,” dagdag ng senadora. “Palakasin din natin ang kumpiyansa ng mga foreign investor sa business environment to reduce the instability which ironically for the Cha-cha advocates, Cha-cha itself instigates.”
Ang inflation pa rin ang pinaka-kagyat na alalahanin ng mga Pilipino, ayon sa inilabas na survey ng Pulse Asia Research
