Naantala ang ipinangakong plastic cards para sa driver’s licenses dahil sa nararanasang technical problems sa paggawa ng mga ito, sinabi ni LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II ngayong Lunes, Enero 15.
Nauna nang sinabi ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) na ang Philippine Society of Medicine for Drivers ay nag-donate ng apat na milyong plastic card para sa pag-imprenta ng mga lisensya na inaasahang maihahatid ngayong buwan.
“As of now, we still don’t have the cards because…we are still waiting for the OSG’s opinion so that everything would be smoothed out…so that we won’t have problems. We are just waiting for that so we can be given the green light as far as the four million [card] donations are concerned,” sabi ni Mendoza.
Bukod dito, ang mga card ay kailangan ding dumaan sa Kongreso, sa pamamagitan ng Committee on Transportation nito, upang ang “concerns of all sectors would be addressed,” dagdag ni mendoza.
