Pinarpurihan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang PH Embassy, Kuwait at Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), at maging ang Kuwaiti authorities matapos mahatulan ng 16-year imprisonment ang pumatay sa OFW na si Jullebee Ranara.
“I commend the Philippine Embassy in Kuwait, the Department of Migrant Workers, and the Kuwaiti Authorities for their continued pursuit of justice for our OFW, Jullebee Ranara. We hope that the appeal process will be conducted fairly, and justice will be served accordingly,” pahayag ni Marcos na ipinost sa social media.
“I take comfort in thinking that Toots (the late DMW Secretary Susan “Toots” Ople) and Jullebee are looking down from heaven with smiles. Their legacy serves as a reminder of our duty to protect and support our fellow countrymen, regardless of where in the world they may be,” dadag ng Punong Ehekutibo.
Ito ay matapos hatulan ng Kuwaiti court ang 17-anyos na si Turki Ayed Al-Azmi ng 15-taong pagkakakulong sa kasong pagpatay at isa pang taon sa driving without license.
Base sa imbestigasyon, si Ranara ay hanalay bago pinatay ng anak ng kanyang amo na si Al-Azmi.
Ang sinunog na bangkay ni Ranara ay natagpuan ng mga awtoridad sa gitna ng desert. Napagalaman din na buntis ang biktima nang mangyari ang pamamaslang.
