Ipinagbunyi ng Office of the Ombudsman ang pag-isyu ng Sandiganbayan ng warrant of arrest ngayong Biyernes, Nobyembre 21, laban kina dating Ako Bicol congressman Zaldy Co at 17 iba pa, kabilang ang mga dating opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at government contractors na idinawit sa multi-bilyong pisong flood control project anomaly.
“To the law enforcement agencies whose responsibility is to effect the arrests – execute the warrants without delay,” ayon sa statement ng Office of the Ombudsman.
“The Office of the Ombudsman welcome the issuance of warrants of arrest against Zaldy Co and the 17 other accused in the corruption cases filed before the Sandiganbayan last Tuesday,” nakasaad sa statement.
Ito ay matapos magbigay ng katiyakan si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na marami sa mga isinangkot sa flood control scam ang magpapasko sa kulungan.
