Pinabulaanan ni House Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre ang sinabi ni Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign manager Toby Tiangco na hindi ito ang dapat sisihin sa pagkatalo ng senatorial bets ng Marcos administration sa Mindanao kundi ang mga nag-impeach kay Vice President Sara Duterte—86.96% kasi ng mga kongresistang pabor sa impeachment ay muling nahalal nitong eleksiyon.
Nanindigan siya na malinaw ang mensaheng hatid ng resulta ng katatapos na midterm elections: ang paninindigan sa katotohanan at pagkakaroon ng pananagutan sa taumbayan ay hindi negatibo ang epekto sa mga botante—kundi pagpapakita ng tapat na pamumuno.
Ito ang naging reaksiyon ni Acidre matapos igiit ni Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, campaign manager ng Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatoriables, na ang impeachment ni VP Sara ang dahilan umano sa pagkatalo sa Mindanao ng mga pambato ni President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa pagkasenador.
“With due respect to Rep. Tiangco, the numbers simply do not support that claim,” sabi ni Acidre. “The defeat of a few candidates cannot be pinned on a constitutional process that the people clearly understood—and endorsed.”
Ayon kay Acidre, 100 mula sa 115 kongresista ng iba’t ibang distrito na nag-endorso ng impeachment complaint laban sa Bise Presidente ay pawang nahalal muli, o may 86.96 percent win rate sa buong bansa.
Maging sa Mindanao, kung saan nangulelat ang mga senatoriables—na tungkuling ipanalo ni Tiangco bilang kanilang campaign manager—ay 36 sa 44 na pro-impeachment lawmakers ang magbabalik-Kamara sa 81.81 percent win rate, ayon kay Acidre.
“Just to set the record straight, these results dismantle the narrative that the impeachment was a political liability,” katwiran ni Acidre. “What we’re seeing is a public that values courage over complicity. The people have drawn the line—and they stood with us.”
Ayon kay Acidre, ang pananatili sa Kamara ng karamihan sa mga kongresista ay sumasalamin sa pamumuno ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez—na nagsilbing gabay sa Lower Chamber sa marahil ay most politically charged period sa kasaysayan ng House of Representatives.
“The House acted as it should—as an independent, co-equal branch committed to the rule of law. Speaker Romualdez provided steady leadership throughout. If anything, the results show that his brand of principled politics resonates across the nation,” paliwanag ni Acidre.
