Kinondena ni Commodore Jay Tarriela, PCG spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea (WPS), ang ginawang “dangerous maneuvers” ng People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLA-Navy) o Chinese Navy nitong Martes, Pebrero 18.
“This reckless action posed a serious risk to the safety of the pilots and passengers during the MDA flight,” saad ni Tarriela.
Iniulat ni Tarriela sa X (dating Twitter) kahapon na nagsagawa umano ng Maritime Domain Awareness Flight sa territorial airspace ng Bajo De Masinloc ang Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) kasama ang mga tauhan mula sa Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) nang maganap ang insidente.
Ito ay matapos mamataan na tatlong metro umano ang lapit ng PLA-Navy chopper sa port side at ibabaw ng eroplano ng BFAR na malinaw na paglabag sa international aviation regulations ng International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
“The PCG and BFAR remain committed to asserting our sovereignty, sovereign rights, and maritime jurisdiction in the West Philippine Sea, despite the aggressive and escalatory actions of China,” saad ni Tarriela.
