Tinututukan na ng Department of Migrant Workers ang posibleng pagkakaloob ng clemency sa dalawang Pinoy na nasa death row ng Brunei.

Dalawang Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) na sina Edgar Puzon at Cyrile Tagapan ang kasalukuyang nasa death row sa Brunei, ayon kay Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.

“I conveyed the message of the President to our two kababayans of his support and continuing prayers for them … Both expressed their deepest thanks to the President,” ani Cacdac.

Ang DMW ay kasalukuyang nakikipagugnayan sa isang lokal na law firm para isulong ang pagkakaloob ng clemency sa dalawang Pinoy katulong ang Attorney General’s Chambers at ang Privy Council ng Prime Minister’s Office.

Isinasaayos din ang mga “compassionate visits” para sa dalawang Pinoy.

“The DMW and its attached agency, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), funded and will continue to shoulder all expenses for the compassionate visits of the two OFWs’ families and relatives,” sabi ng DMW.
