Ipinagtataka ni 1-Rider party-list Rep. Ramon Rodrigo Gutierrez kung bakit madalas na sumisipot si Vice President Sara Duterte sa mga ‘prayer rally’ ng kanilang mga taga-suporta na karaniwang nauuwi sa pambabatikos sa liderato ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
“We respect everyone’s right to freedom of expression. I suppose the attendance of certain personalities at the rally could always be construed as a personal exercise of that right, but given the positions that we are in, we have to consider, of course, the intricacies that are involved,” sabi ni Gutierrez.
Nitong mga nakaraang ‘prayer rally’ na dinaluhan hindi lamang ng mga pro-Duterte ngunit maging mga taga-suporta ni Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy ay dinaluhan ni VP Sara sa kabila na ginamit ang naturang okasyon ng kanyang ama na si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte upang batikusin ang administrasyon Marcos.
Hindi ito nagustuhan ni Gutierrez.
“Personally, I will not make any calls, but I hope that we consider the messaging that it might promote, especially given the statements made in that rally, because when one attends a rally and statements are made, though you might not personally agree to it, your mere attendance might be misconstrued by other people,” ani Gutierrez.
