Nagpahayag ng taus pusong pakikiramay si House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa pamilya ng dalawang Pinoy seafarers na nasawi sa pinakahuling insidente pagatake ng Houthi rebels sa M/V True Confidence sa karagatan ng Gulf of Aden.
“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the Filipino seafarers who lost their lives in this senseless and tragic attack. Their dedication and sacrifices while serving aboard the M/V True Confidence will always be remembered and honored,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Ang dalawang Pinoy ay kabilang sa tatlong nasawing crew members ng bulk carrier na tinamaan ng ballistic missile ng Houthi rebels habang may dalawa Pinoy pa ang sugatan sa insidente, ayon sa ulat.
Tiniyak ng leader ng Kamara kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na agad silang magpapadala ng tulong at suporta sa pamilya ng mga Pinoy casualties kasabay ng panawagan sa international community na ikondena ang naturang pag-atake na bumiktima ng mga inosenteng sibilyan.
“We stand in solidarity with President Marcos, the Department of Migrant Workers and the Filipino seafarers affected by this heartbreaking incident. It is imperative that we extend all possible assistance to the families of the victims and ensure that the injured receive the necessary medical care and support,” ani Romualdez.
