Mahigit sa 45 Pilipino mula sa Israel ang nakatakdang umuwi sa Pilipinas sa Nobyembre 6, sinabi ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) noong Huwebes, Nobyembre 2.
“There are 45 Filipinos arriving from Israel on November 6, and that is good news,” ayon kay DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega.
Idinagdag ni de Vega na anim na Pilipino mula sa Lebanon ang darating din sa Biyernes, Nobyembre 3, alas-6 ng gabi sa gitna ng tumitinding bakbakan sa pagitan ng Israeli Defense Forces at Hamas.
“There are two Filipinos in the West Bank who crossed the border to Jordan for repatriation, and we are working on that problem since they have no papers both for Jordan or the West Bank,” saad ni De Vega.
“In Gaza, there are still 134 [Filipinos] there. Of this number, 115 now want to go home, which is up from 78 just a few days ago. It means our fellow Filipinos are heeding our call for repatriation,” dagdag ni De Vega.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng DFA na inuuna nito ang kaligtasan at proteksyon ng mga Pilipino sa Middle East at, sa bawat pagkakataon, sinisikap na tiyakin ang kanilang ligtas na paglikas palabas sa mga danger zone.
“It bears noting that Gaza remains under a total blockade, with the movement of people and goods severely curtailed, necessitating close coordination with the relevant foreign governments,” saad ng DFA.
