Ang Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) pa rin ang nangungunang unibersidad sa Pilipinas bagamat dumaudsos ito sa pinakabagong global ranking ng universities ng Times Higher Education (THE).
Tinukoy sa 2024 World University Rankings ng Times Higher Education na ang Jesuit-run ADMU ay nasa 1001-1200 bracket, bagamat bumaba mula sa 351-500 grouping ngayong 2023.
Pumangalawa ang University of the Philippines (UP), na bumaba sa 1201-1500 bracket mula 601-800, habang ang De La Salle University (DLSU) at University of Santo Tomas (UST), na parehong pumangatlo sa 1501 bracket.
Ang Cebu Technological University, Central Luzon State University, University of Eastern Philippines, Mapua University, Mariano Marcos State University, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines, Tarlac Agricultural University, and the Visayas State University ay nakahanay sa “reporter” status.
Nangangahulugan ito na nagbigay sila ng data upang maisama sa mga ranggo ngunit hindi nakamit ang pamantayan sa pagiging kwalipikado.
Ang University of Oxford sa United Kingdom ang nanguna sa world ranking, na sinundan ng Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, at University of Cambridge.
Sinakop ng US ang pito sa nangungunang 10 puwesto, sabi ni THE.
“At first glance, the top of the list shows little change from last year… But on closer inspection, the upper echelon of the World University Rankings reveals that China’s best institutions are inching closer than ever to entering the top 10 – Tsinghua University and Peking University have both risen a few places to sit in 12th and 14th positions, respectively,” ayon sa THE.
“China now has 13 universities in the top 200 – up from seven in 2020 – with each of them improving their ranking significantly,” dagdag pa nila.
Kasama sa pinakahuling ranking ng unibersidad sa mundo ang 1,904 na unibersidad sa 108 na bansa at rehiyon.
Tinasa ng THE ang mga paaralan batay sa 18-performance indicator sa limang areas, katulad ng teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
