Pinangunahan ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ngayong Lunes, Hunyo 10, ang pamamahagi ng 17 solar pumps na makakatulong sa irrigation system ng daan-daang magsasaka sa kanilang mga sakahan sa Isabela, isa sa mga pangunahing probinsya ng bansa na nagtatanim ng palay at mais.
“We have to help our farmers with irrigation and other farm inputs like fertilizer and seeds so they can increase their produce. They should aim to double it,” sabi ni Romualdez.
Sinabi ng pinuno ng Kamara na ang irigasyon ay mahalaga sa pagtatanim palay, mais at iba pang produktong agrikultural hindi lamang sa Isabela kundi sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa.
“This means that they can have at least two crops a year. That’s double their harvest if they plant their crop only during the rainy days, which is really the case in farming areas that do not have irrigation,” dagdag ni Romualdez.
