Nakuha ng Philippine National Robotics team ang bronze medal sa World Robotics Olympiad Friendship Invitational Tournament na ginanap mula Setyembre 21 hanggang 24 sa Denmark.
Nasungkit nina Sabina Lim at Gevenyl Canlas, ng Department of Education (DepEd) Special Education for the Gifted sa Olongapo City, ang bronze medal sa Future Innovators – Elementary Division na may score na 149.50.
Sina Aaron James Amar, Andrea Luz Guevarra at Daniella Angela De Guzman ng Dr. Yanga Colleges, Inc. naman ay nakakuha rin ng mga parangal sa ikatlong puwesto sa Senior Division ng parehong kaganapan, sa score na 170.
Samantala, nakuha naman ng Nellie E. Brown Elementary School ng Olongapo City ang ika-38 puwesto sa RoboMission Elementary Division, habang ang Columbian College Barretto Inc. ay nagtapos sa ika-20 sa Senior Division.
“The victory of the robotics team at the World Robot Olympiad is a proud moment for the Philippines. We are delighted that these Filipino students have proven that we have what it takes to be a frontrunner in the field of robotics,” sabi ni Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo-Herrera Lim.
