Labing dalawang accredited driving schools ang pinagpapaliwanag ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) matapos makatanggap ang ahensiya ng impormasyon tungkol sa diumano’y iregularidad sa pag-iisyu ng certificates para sa Practical Driving Course (PDC) na isa sa mga requirement sa pagkuha ng lisensiya.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the schools reportedly issued certificates to students who did not undergo or complete the mandatory eight hours of practical driving instruction,” ayon sa LTO.
Ayon kay LTO chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, naglabas na ng show cause order ang Central Accreditation Committee ng ahensiya laban sa 12 accredited driving schools na nakabase sa Metro Manila.
Napag-alaman ng ahensiya na ang mga naturang driving schools ay nag-iisyu ng certificates of completion para sa PDC bagamat hindi naman nakumpleto ng mga aplikante ang mandatory 8-hour seminar para dito.
“These acts constitute violations of LTO Memorandum Circular No. VDM-2023-2460, including fraud, misrepresentation, irregular use of accreditation, and non-compliance with established regulations,” ayon sa ahensiya.
Kabilang din iimbestigahan ng CAC ay ang mga instructors na idinawit sa naturang anomalya.
Sinuspinde rin ni Lacanilao ang 12 driving schools ng 30 araw bilang preventive measure habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon sa kontrobersiya.
