Pinuri ni dating Senador Leila de Lima noong Lunes, Nobyembre 11, ang desisyon ng Committee on Good Government & Public Accountability na i-contempt ang apat na opisyal ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) kasunod ng kanilang hindi pagharap sa ikalimang pagdinig nito sa umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds ng OVP sa ilalim ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“The behavior of the Vice President in the proceedings in both the House and the Senate is akin to a toddler throwing tantrums–such should no longer be tolerated,” saad ni De Lima.
Ang mga opisyal ng OVP ay sina Assistant Chief of Staff at Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) Chair Lemuel Ortonio, Special Disbursing Officer Gina Acosta, dating Department of Education (DepEd) Assistant Secretary Sunshine Fajarda, at dating Special Disbursing Officer Edward Fajarda.
“Respect is earned, and the OVP, particularly its principal, Vice President Sara Duterte, has shown only contempt for legal processes of a co-equal branch,” saad ni De Lima.
