Inihayag ni House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil na nai-forward na niya ang mga impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte sa Office of the Speaker nitong Huwebes, Pebrero 5, pagkatapos ng beripikasyon nila sa mga naturang reklamo.
“Upon receipt and verification of the complaints and their accompanying endorsements, the Office of the Secretary General forwarded the documents to the Office of the Speaker for appropriate action,” saad ni Garafil.
Matatandaang noong Lunes, Pebrero 2, ay dalawang impeachment complaint laban kay VP Sara ang inihain sa Office of the House Secretary General, kung saan inendorso ng Makabayan bloc ang isa sa complaints, habang ang isa pa ay inendorso nina Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Rep. Leila de Lima at Akbayan Rep. Perci Cendaña.
Saklaw ng bagong impeachment complaints laban sa Bise Presidente ang tungkol sa diumano’y kuwestiyunableng paggastos nito ng confidential at intelligence funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP), pati ng Department of Education (DepEd) nang nanilbihan siya bilang kalihim nito.
