Inihayag ni Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) chairman retired Justice Andres Reyes Jr. sa press conference nitong Huwebes, Nobyembre 6, na kailangan ng komisyon ng mga whistleblower kaugnay sa kanilang imbestigasyon sa multi-bilyong pisong flood control scam.
“We need whistleblowers because there is no connection from the DPWH to the proponent…I appeal to those people who have knowledge to come out and support us,” saad ni Reyes.
Ito ay dahil hindi pa umano nila nae-establish ang koneksyon ng mga kinasuhang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials at mga proponent na nakatanggang ng “kickbacks” mula sa maanomalyang flood control projects.
“So maybe it will be the Ombudsman that can gather the evidence to connect these people charged to the proponent. Because it’s hard naman to just say that the case is in this district and the congressman there is the one personally involved,” saad ni Reyes.
Nanawagan naman siya sa mga taong may alam tungkol sa naturang scam na tumulong sa imbestigasyon ng komisyon. “Kailangan namin mga nagsasalita na nagsusumbong, nagtuturo.”
