Inihayag ni Batangas 1st District Rep. Leandro Legarda Leviste sa press conference noong Huwebes, Oktubre 16, na dapat bigyan ng pagkakataon si Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon na magpaliwanag sa panibagong isyu na kinahaharap ng kanyang mga tauhan.
“I think it would be good to give Secretary Dizon the opportunity to explain. Of course everyone knows people, so to say that Secretary Dizon knows DPWH contractors is not to say that there is anything inappropriate happening,” saad ni Leviste.
Kaugnay ito sa narinig ng kongresista na diumano’y may koneksyon ang kalihim at ang mga miyembro ng team nito sa mga DPWH contractors, at ang ibang miyembro ng mismong team niya ay mga contractor.
“If it’s true that new appointees in DPWH have interest in companies that do business with DPWH, are we sure that there will be no conflict of interest in the awarding of contracts under the new leadership at DPWH? And why, then, has this not been previously disclosed,” saad ni Leviste.
“Could it be that these reforms in DPWH will not actually reduce corruption but will transfer the benefits of it to another level or another group of parties or contractors?” dagdag niya.
