Nag-resign na si Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong bilang special adviser ng Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) na binuo ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. para imbestigahan ang maanomalyang flood control projects sa bansa.
“Combined with circumstances that already cast doubt on the independence of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), it has become clear that my continued service is no longer tenable,” saad ni Magalong sa kanyang liham kay PBBM.
“The Palace’s pronouncements concerning my designation, which run contrary to the terms of my appointment, have undermined the role and mandate entrusted to me,” ani Magalong sa liham na may petsang Setyembre 26, 2025.
“Let it also be stated that I have not neglected, nor will I ever neglect, my primary responsibility to the people of Baguio, whose welfare and interests remain at the core of my public service,” dagdag niya.
Hindi naman binanggit ng alkalde ang mga pronouncements na naging dahilan sa kanyang pagbibitiw bilang ICI special adviser.
