Ito ang iginiit ni Sen. Risa Hontiveros matapos sabihin ni Senate impeachment court spokesperson Atty. Reginald Tongol na kailangan munang pumili ng 20th Congress ng bagong Senate President, na uupong presiding officer sa Senate impeachment court, bago manumpa ang mga bagong senador bilang senator-judges.
“Atty. Tongol is entitled to speak in his own capacity, but, with all due respect, he does not reflect the voice of the Senate,” giit ni Hontiveros.
Aniya, ang mga senator-judges lamang umano ang maaaring magdesisyon sa susunod na kilos ng korte.
“As a deliberative body, the strength of the Senate is in its collective judgment. Based on his statements at a recent press conference, he represents only the position of the Presiding Officer. But he does not represent mine, as one of the senator-judges,” saad ni Sen. Hontiveros.
