“Very risky” umano ang strategy ng defense team ni Vice President Sara Duterte, ayon kay dating Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio.
“They’re banking on the [argument] that the one-year ban rule has been violated. Paglabas ng reply ng House, hindi pala; if you count the session days, walang session December halos e. Very risky [itong strategy nila],” saad ni dating Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio.
“Sa answer ni VP Sara, walang specific denial under oath; in-admit niya in effect. In other words, the lawyers of VP Sara have put in one basket their defense, and that basket is there is no jurisdiction because the one-year ban rule has been violated,” saad niya.
Aniya pa, “they’re raising that as their sole defense” dahil hindi umano nila itinanggi ang ibang mga alegasyon laban sa bise presidente.
Samantala, matatandaan na noong Hunyo 23 ay isinumite ng kampo ni VP Sara ang kanyang answer “ad cautelam” (with caution) kung saan hiniling na ibasura ang ika-apat na impeachment complaint laban sa bise presidente dahil labag umano ito sa One-Year Ban Rule sa ilalim ng 1987 Constitution.
